A school bus makes a great RV platform, but the bare steel shell is a poor insulator. It gets hot in summer, cold in winter, and it sweats. One of our customers took on that problem for their bus conversion with two TigerFoam 600FR spray foam kits, and they shared photos of the process.
Why spray foam for a bus
A bus interior is mostly ribs, curves, and tight corners. Rigid board and batts leave gaps along those curves, and gaps are where heat escapes and condensation forms. Closed-cell spray foam expands into those spaces and bonds to the surface, so it works as insulation and an air seal in one step. The TF600FR is rated at nearly R-7 per inch and carries an ASTM E84 Class 1 fire rating.
